24th May 2008 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 30-35 knots Surf / Sea State: Flat - Choppy Air Temperature: 14ºC Sea Temperature: 12ºC Weather: Sunny Max Speed: 34.8 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 24.4 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Got to the beach just beofre 7am and started off in the channel with a 5.1m and my S-Type. Nice and fast (max of 34.8 knots) but the board was just too big so I changed down to my 4.5m and Naish Hybrid Freewave. Managed to touch 30 knots on that too, but it isn't fast so I was just playing around really. Should have been on my JP wave board as that is fast and more controllable in such conditions. The 4.5m was more than enough with winds occassionally gusting to 40 knots. Got off the water around 10.30am and then headed off to the climbing wall. Ivor kept blowing all day with some 45 knot gusts in the estuary mid afternoon. Same again tomorrow please! |
